How can I turn automatic CPU frequency setting off?
1. run the latest version of Pocket Hack Master;
2. choose Edit -> Settings -> Advanced tab -> put a tick;
3. choose Edit -> Settings -> Startup tab -> put both ticks;
4. save settings.

How to overclock the device?
1. run the latest version of Pocket Hack Master;
2. choose Edit -> Settings -> Advanced tab -> put a tick;
3. choose Edit -> Settings -> Startup tab -> put both ticks;
4. tap Speed configuration and scroll the whole list down. Tap and hold the stylus at the free space below the last line;
5. in the poped up menu choose Add manual speed;
6. select L=17 and N=5, tap ОК button. Now you have a new frequency mode in the last line. Put a tick on the left of this new mode and choose Test. After the Test is finished you have to add tested modes to Favorites (hap and hold the line), tap Close;
7. now you should minimize the program: File>Minimize.

• How to enter engeneering mode?
1. turn off your GSmart;
2. hold Flag, OK and Camera + press and hold Power button;
3. use navigation buttons to select the settings.

The device doesn't boot, I see only Gigabyte logo. Hard reset doesn't help and the Firmware update process stops with the first message?
1. turn off the device;
2. enter engeneering mode;
3. in Main menu choose Boot Config;
4. in Configuration menu choose EBOOT-Launch Image;
5. turn off the device;
6. now hard reset or upgrade firmware.
Sometimes helps another method: leave the device without the battery for about 30 minutes, then turn your GSmart on.

What is HiddenRom (ExtRom)?
It's a partition in the memory hidden by default, its contents isn't erased after hard reset, also this contents is installed automatically after hard reset. You can use this storage to put there your own programs (cab files only).

How to enlarge the amount of program memory available?
You need registry editor. HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\StrataFMD_HIDDENROM\
change parameter MemLen to any different, the amount of memory will change from ~17Mb to ~23-27Mb, with firmware 1.14.82-84 you initially have ~30Мb free , after applying the trick you get ~33Mb.
If you change the Memlen parameter, you can't get access to HiddenRom (ExtRom).

How can I get access to HiddenRom (ExtRom), make it visible?
1. You need registry editor. HKLM\ System\ StorageManager\ Profiles\ MSFlash_HIDDENROM\ FATFS\. Change parameter MountHidden to 0. After that you can see a new partition HiddenRom in Explorer.
2. Or you can use Total Commander. In the adress line type hiddenrom and you'll see this storage partition.
If you applied MemLen trick, you have to put its default back (hex:C00000). Otherwise you can't get access to HiddenRom partition or make it visible.

• How to set specific function key?
Please go to Start > Setting > Buttons, choose the specific function and appoint a key for it. Note: the key of [On] and [Off] won't be allowed to assign any function. (or use AE Button Plus from Downloads - Programs).

• When my GSmart i series runs out of battery or when I change my battery, will it result in data loss?
GSmart i series utilizes Microsoft Windows Mobile Version 5.0, so its data will not be lost due to change of battery or power loss.

• How much battery is left? Any way to access this information faster?
Under Today''s Screen, click on the [Battery] icon on the upper right corner to see how battery gauge in percentage.
You can also go to Start > Settings > System > Power, and see the same thing.
Besides these option you can also install other third party software to access the battery information faster.

• How do I back up my data?
It's better constantly to ActiveSync your GSmart i series with your computer. This way any data loss can be recovered from the computer.

• How to close an application?
If you click on the X in the upper right corner, it only MINIMIZES the application. When there is not enough memeory, the phone will automatically close those applications that are not being utilized.
However, some other third party softwares might have its own way to end the process, you may check manual of those third party softwares.

• Why the "Memory is not enough" message is showed frequently?
When you do not have enough memory, it is most likely that you have opened a lot of applications, or one particular application is taking a lot of memory. You can go to Start > System > Memory and close those applications to release memory for other applications.

• How do I move files?
Under [File Explorer], find the file you want to move, click and hold, a pop up menu will show up, then choose [Cut]. Go to the desired destination folder, click on any empty space and hold, and the pop up menu will show up again, then choose [Paste].

• How to install software to GSmart i series?
Run the installation on your computer. When your GSmart i series is connected to the computer, the installation process will ask you to install the software through ActiveSync.
If you have a MiniSD card, then you would be prompted with options to install the software on the phone or on the MiniSD.
