Although my phone was running fine except for the intermittent memory issues when playing back videos; and general slowness; white screen etc..I decided to instal. 3.60 and am happy with the result thus far. I had to change my language code to code 0804 and did this successfully with 'HexEdit'.
It has corrected all those issues, runs nicely, every thing seems fine with a few annoying (for me anyway) exceptions:
1.The screen rotation function now works opposite to the way it used to:
-The screen now rotates ant-clockwise rather than clockwise.
-Bottom row of icons are gone now, maybe they'll come back after a few reboots? so i can't change it back to portrait unless its thru settings menus.
-using the rotate icon again returns to portrait, old version "i think from memory", rotated 360 degrees
2. Re above, video option to play in landscape is gone.
-Media Player previously had an option to display video in landscape, this meant i could keep the phone in portrait but play my 640x480 videos in full screen landscape.
-Oversized videos are no longer visible in media player until full screen button is selected on Media Players control panel. Previously they were resized/expanded/shrunk to fit.
-both old and new versions dont associate .avi files with Windows Media player, perhaps that could be altered in future updates.
To play full sized video now in landscape, the phone itself needs to be placed in landscape which is annoying and not necessary in win 6.0.
Overall, imho its worth doing the upgrade to 3.60 if you don't need "wisetalk". If there is any other program that is missing i'm not aware of it probably because i never used it anyway.
No problems with SD card for me.
I'm about to copy then HexEdit the "Melbourne" and "User" pre-installed TV Channel Table to make one for "Sydney" as its the only entry for Australia.
So for the 2600mah battery is ok. The back cover is a little flimsy not being a 100% tight fit and the performance i'll guess gives about 25-30% increase.
