Maybe you've never used Windows phones before? The menus are always a bit slower when you open them the first time, but they're faster the next time you open them. For the ROM updates you can check the official site.

I have been using Windows Mobile since 2004. My first handset was i-mate pocket pc.
This MS820 is realy slow.
Also my Smart Touch does not work on extended mode (two-page icons). When I touch an active icon nothing happens. just a white arrow apears on top of the screen and then disapears. do you know what's wrong with it?
I reinstalled Smart Touch from download link you posted in other thread (Smart Touch III VGA) , but problem still exist. :(

maybe this video will be helpful: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtLJDosgQYE
the main idea is that you should drag icons, not just touch. Also you can always read the manual :)

In setting there is CPU Profile, set your CPU frequency to 520 i.e. for higer performance and you will definitely feel the speed overall.
