No, it's not correct. In Custfile folder there's a Custfile.cab file, if you open it, you'll see many cab files inside. Only two or three of them are installation cab files of Smart Touch. It means if you remove the whole Custfile folder, you'll delete not only Smart Touch, but also many other necessary cab files.

Windows Mesenger and Live: "WindowsLive", "WindowsLive_DPI_96", "WindowsLive_Lang_xxxx", "WindowsLiveIM" packages in SYS.
Windows Update: "AUTOUPDATE", "Autoupdate_Lang_xxxx", "FWUPDATE" (*.dsm and packageinfoapi.dll must remain in that package!), "Fwupdate_Lang_0419" packages in SYS.

OK, I've downloaded this: http://www.multiupload.com/Z0D8781UIS Which is a 6.5.5 build, and only a SYS dir, which has a different structure than 6.1.
My question is, should I copy something from the 6.1 firmware(other than the ROM folder), and should I edit something in these files to make it work on the phone?

It doesn't even have .VM, so I can't user GReloc.

I have MW702.

Thanks!

Sure you need "something from the 6.1 firmware", please read the topic for more info.

I've read it, but I'm stuck at G'Reloc.
As you've said in the third post I should set the values of the new SYS with it, but the new SYS dir doesn't have a ".VM" dir, so G'Reloc can't do anything.
Should I just copy the .VM from the 6.1 firmware?
Or if you could upload the file structure of your 6.5 build, I think I can start with that.

G'Reloc is not suitable for WM6.5. Use Ervius-PkgToolsBuildOs-Kitchen

Re: ROM editing tools

If I try BuildOS on the extracted SYS folder, I get
"...\temp\dump\AdobeFlash_LANG_0409\imageinfo.bin not found" message.
if I try the Ervius-PackageTool, it says "[Error] packages.sof missing!", which is true, because I didn't dumped a ROM file, just extracted that SYS folder I linked before.

So what should be my next step after I have the 6.5.5 SYS folder, and copied the .VM and .ROM from the 6.1 ROM?
I know I will need the boot.rgu from the device, but I think these errors are not related to that.

I've found packages.sof in directory "0409\Metadata", but if I open that folder with Ervius PkgTool, I get this:
Code: Select all
[Selected Path]
  C:\MW702\6.5.5\SYS\Metadata

[Core OS]
  Windows Mobile-based Pocket PCs -> (Maybe):\ROM\XIP\d0b41563-b345-4444-aa15-986e7c7fff99.dsm

  (Maybe):\ROM\XIP\27790533-c966-4097-8a93-c1a83969c574.dsm

...

So something is definitely wrong, even DPI is bad, altough this is an "All DPI" version, and I've delete all the "...DPI_192" folders.
