MS802 audio problem

Postby una038 » Wed Feb 24, 2010 2:22 am

Hi all

I've bought a brand new MS802, and got a strange problem. From approx. 4 of 10 cases, when an incoming call happens, or it's time to play a morning alarm sound - there is no sound. Silent calls is the smaller problem, I store the PDA in my pocket, and i feel the vibration. But in alarm, no vibration too (I use G-Alarm, it must handle vibration by default), and occassionally no sound, just a little sea noise. I installed G-alarm to device first, and next tried to the card, but effect is the same. I've tried both mp3, wma and aac tones with no result.

Any idea to resolve this issue?

Any help is appreciated!

What ROM and Extrom version do you have on the phone? Have you tried to restore the factory defaults?

No, never tried to restore. This is an almost brand new phone, I thought restore cannot change anything. Or is it a mistake?

The ROM versions is the following:

ENG V2.07.84 2009/9/11

EXTROM: V103_MS802_Czech

Thanks for reply!

You can try to hard rest the phone (restore the factory defaults), but don't forget that you'll lose all you personal data!

Something different:

Unfortunately I've got no source for the original ROM, I have just find an older one. The version is 2.07.81, and V1.21 (?). Not just for audio problems, the phone makes random freezes, and daily lockups.

Could be OK to flash a previous version, or try the WM6.5 ROM you cooked?

Thanks

I don't understand why you want to change the ROM. I only recommended to hard reset the phone. Anyway if you decide to flash any different ROM, it would be wise to write Gigabyte and ask them to send you (or give a link) ENG V2.07.84_103_MS802_Czech ROM.

Thanks for advice. I've contacted Gigabyte to request the original ROM source. I'm trying to perform a hard reset first, but I'm afraid if it does not solve the problems, I put this phone into a garbage can :)

Thanks

I also asked the question about that ROM version. If you get an answer, please let me know.

I've got the answer:
"Please contact your dealer or service center. They maybe can help you."

una038,
what do you think if we make a dump of your rom manually?

Hi

Same answer :) Is it possible to dump a reinstallable ROM?

Can't find a way to perform a hard reset. I found only a shortcut in Settings, named "Reset to defaults". The reset hole must be pressed for a few seconds?
Thank you

I'd click the shortcut, and the hard reset now performs nice. I tell you the result.

F***ck.

When the reset has performed, and the spb backup restored, the device returns to a previous state. The phone has bought by my colleague before me, and he has set a password when he bought the phone. Of course he forgot this password. The phone requires this password. What can I do to hard reset again with hard buttons?

Don't restore backups after a hard reset!

HR with buttons: turn off the device (long press power btn), then hold camera button (it has two positions, don't forget!) + power button, release the buttons when you see Image Utility.

How to dump the ROM. I described it here: t600 WM 6.1 LITE unofficial updates (English)
In that example we dumped Extrom only, but we need ROM + Extrom, so you need to dump three partitions: TFFS Part00, TFFS Part01 and TFFS1 Part00.
